About Dr. Al Bauer

With over 30 years of experience in education,


Al Bauer is a seasoned professional dedicated to enhancing student achievement, fostering positive school cultures, and advancing educational practices. Recently retired after 11 impactful years as the principal of a high-performing middle school on Long Island,


Al played a critical role in all aspects of school operations. As an instructional leader, he spearheaded the development and implementation of innovative curricula, collaborated on policy creation, and worked tirelessly to create engaging learning opportunities for students. His leadership also extended to building strong relationships with the community, supporting school initiatives, and ensuring academic success for all students.

Before his tenure as principal, Al served as an assistant principal at a well-regarded high school, where he oversaw the health, welfare, and safety of students and staff. Earlier in his career, he contributed to educational excellence at a distinguished junior-senior high school, serving for 16 years in roles including Chair of the Mathematics Department and other leadership positions.

Dr. Bauer holds a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from St. John’s University, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration, a Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education from Adelphi University, and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Hofstra University.
